Our cuisine is a soulful fusion where the traditions of South Savo, Germany, and Sardinia meet. This unique culinary identity is brought to life by combining the finest local Finnish ingredients with the heritage of our hosts.

Our hostess, Manuela, brings the hearty culinary traditions of her native Germany, while our chef, Marco, infuses every dish with the vibrant, sun-drenched flavors of his Sardinian roots. Together, they create a dining experience that is both international and deeply rooted in the local soil of Landhaus Kekkola.

Zuppa del pescatore

Homemade Mamma Sandra’s Ravioli
Fresh ravioli made according to the recipe of our chef Marco’s mother, Sandra, stuffed with potatoes and ricotta cheese. Served with cherry tomatoes, basil, and a creamy lemon sauce (A, L)

Meat: Tuscan stew of organic Charolais beef
Tuscan stew of braised Charolais beef from Siiriänen, with baked roots, and creamy mashed potatoes (A, L, G)

Fish: Mediterranean Zander
Local zander from Järvi-Suomen fish products from Hirvensalmi. Seasoned with olives, onions and fresh cocktail tomatoes, plus cheese risotto (A, L, G)

Vegetable: Melanzane alla Parmigiana
A traditional Italian slow-baked eggplant dish with tomatoes, onions, and mozzarella cheese (A, L, G)

Country of origin for all meat: Finland.
Our lake fish is sourced locally from Lake Puula via Järvi-Suomen-Kalatuote in Hirvensalmi.
Our meats are delivered directly to our kitchen from Kuvala Farm in Mäntyharju, Putkisalo Manor in Rantasalmi, and Siiriäinen Organic Farm in Hietanen.

Head Chef Marco Fiori

Originally from Sardinia, Italy, Marco Fiori recently relocated to Mikkeli with his Finnish-Italian family. His culinary journey began as a young boy, surrounded by the rich Mediterranean flavors and fresh seafood of his home island.

Before arriving in Finland, Marco and his wife Hanna owned and operated a highly-regarded restaurant in the heart of Florence. Marco’s expertise has also been showcased on Italian television, where he has appeared on several popular cooking shows.

Today, Marco is inspired by the exceptional purity of Finnish ingredients and the surrounding nature. His passion is to weave these local treasures together with the Sardinian and Tuscan traditions he knows so well, creating a truly unique dining experience at Landhaus Kekkola.
